Shri Lalit Thukral is a well-known name in Apparel Export Sector & Social life. He started garment business in early 80’s and settled himself well in Apparel Export. He organized, stabilized, and brought Apparel Industry especially export to right direction & in lime light & above all developed Noida as an important Apparel Hub of the country, where currently around 4,000 apparel production-cum-export units providing employment to 10 Lakhs people are in operation. Noida annually produces Apparel worth Rs. 45,000 Crores of that Apparel of Rs. 40,000 Crores are exported.

To accelerate the growth & pave the path for all round development of Apparel Industry, Shri Thukral has established Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), a registered society in 2007. The objective of the NAEC is to maintain close coordination with concerned Govt. agencies, District Administration & other departments, taking up the major issues of the industries and problems of the exporters with concerned authorities for their redressal. Presently NAEC has over 300 Apparel Exporters as it members.

The major contribution of Shri Thukral for the industry are, declaring GB Nagar as the “City of Apparel” by Govt. of UP under One District One Product (ODOP), inclusion of Noida in the list of “Town of Export Excellence” (TEE) by DGFT, Govt. of India, rapidly coming up of much needed & awaited ultra-modern NAEC Apparel YEIDA Park in 175 Acers land at Sector-29, Yamuna Expressway, U.P next to proposed Noida International Airport. The park is expected to provide employment to 3.0 Lakhs people with 70% women & to earn initially foreign Exchange worth Rs. 5,000 Crores annually which will be gradually increasing in future. Shri Thukral got special concession & permission from Govt. like arranging movement pass for workers, production of PPE kits & masks by Apparel production units in Noida, honoring of the export order and clearance of the pending payment to the exporters from importers.

Shri Thukral has been honored with many prestigious awards for his outstanding contribution to the Apparel industry & Social works i.e. honored by Mahamahim former President Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, felicitation by Govt. of UP, Police Commissionerate, Noida Authority & other reputed organizations.

Shri Thukral known for vision & foresightedness is presently Managing Director, Maharana of India and Chairman of Twenty Second Miles, Apparel manufacturing companies in Noida. He is Regional Incharge (North India), Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Govt. of India, Convener (RMG), UP Export Promotion Council (UPEPC), Govt. of UP & BOG, ATDC.
